Hoof radiograph measurements for equine vets

DigiHoof proposes the landmarks on your radiographs.
You review them, then share with the farrier, the client, and colleagues.

Five Regular Hoof Balance studies free on every new veterinarian account. No card required. Signup asks for your veterinary licence details.

What one study gives you

Drop in the lateral and DP of each foot. This is what comes back.

  1. 1

    Landmarks already placed

Open the study and the points are on the radiograph. Check each one and drag any that are off.

  2. 2

    Measurements in millimetres and degrees

    Lateral

    • Palmar angle, upper and lower wing
    • Sole depth
    • Dorsal hoof wall–P3 distance, proximal and distal
    • Dorsal hoof wall–P3 angle
    • P3 wing asymmetry
    • Breakover relative to P3
    • Hoof tip–P3 tip distance

    DP

    • Medial sole depth
    • Lateral sole depth

Scaled from the pixel spacing recorded in the DICOM. Move a landmark and the values are recalculated.

  3. 3

A PDF report for the record

One page per foot: the marked radiographs beside your hoof photographs, the shoeing date, and your notes.

  4. 4

A link that opens on a phone

Text or email it to the farrier, the client, or a colleague. They do not need a DigiHoof account.

  5. 5

    Numbers to compare next visit

The structured measurements remain after the image files expire, while your account is active, so the next study can be set beside this one.

Real DigiHoof output from a demonstration study. Horse and owner names are placeholders. The hoof photographs are synthetic and labelled; your reports carry your own photographs.

What it does not do: DigiHoof does not assign a diagnosis, and it is not image storage. Source images and generated reports are temporary, and the study page shows their deletion dates. Download any files required for the permanent clinical record. Retention details →
